Today’s case is a 7-year-old male neutered Golden Retriever who is presenting from his referring veterinarian for evaluation of bronchial pneumonia which has not responded to antibiotics (Baytril and Amoxicillin). What are your differential diagnoses?
Findings
There are diffuse severe pulmonary interstitial infiltrates throughout the pulmonary parenchyma. The cardiovascular structures are within normal limits. There is mild widening of the cranial mediastinum.
Differential Diagnosis
- pulmonary lymphoma
- non-cardiogenic pulmonary edema
- unusual pneumonia or fibrosis
- possible mediastinal lymphadenopathy
