Cardiomyopathy (HCM, DCM, RCM) and heart failure with cardiogenic pulmonary edema
Hypertrophic cardiomyopathy with evidence of pronounced left atrial enlargement and congestive heart failure. Owner should be aware of sequelae of HCM – further CHF, aortic thromboembolism, and sudden death due to ventricular arrhythmias. Prognosisâ€”average life span post CHF is 12 months. Lifelong cardiac medication will be necessary.
